Pronunciation and enunciation is a basic requirement. Not a fan of Udit Narayan’s South Indian songs or SPB Hindi songs. MS Subbalakshmi couldn’t prounounce the basic Telugu words of some of the greatest Carnatic compositions in the most beautiful South Indian language :)

I will never say Dr. Balamuralikrishna's achievements is inferior to Pt. Bhmsen Joshi, just because he couldn't pronounce kannada as native as PBJ (who is from Dharwad). Their musical achievements mark them on a higher pedestal.
