Malcolm Merlyn
So the WC has passed. Second time India has been knocked out in the Semis. Both time Ravi Shastri was the team management incharge and he had his own support staff. Time has come to relieve him of his duties. Who are the possible replacements? 1.Rahul Dravid with Zaheer Khan and Robin Singh. 2. Jason Gillespie with Dean Jones or Mike Hussey and a fielding coach. 3. Mahela Jayawardene with Paras Mhambrey and Robin Singh 4. Mike Hesson with Craig mcmillan and Shane Bond Who do you think should be next group of tesm coaches. Link to comment

diga
I think split captaincy & split coaching could be tried as an experiment till t20 world cup..may not work, but worth a try Link to comment

Tattieboy
Ask yourself this question ....how many of the top six test nations would employ Shastri as head coach ? Yeah none !!! India are number 1 with the richest board in cricket , it's a no brainer that they employ the Best coach in world cricket with the best back up team irrelevant of nationality , anything less and they are just playing at it and not really interested in dominance and winning trophies . Forget all this nonsense about needing 100 caps , it's rubbish .playing, coaching and selecting are completely different things . Gary Stead was an absolutely rubbish leg spin bowler no 8 in first class cricket who turned himself into non aggressive blocker opener and won a few caps for New Zealand ( no idea why ) BUT as a coach his team is in the final of the World Cup !!! Superstar culture and hero worship not very fetching. And there is the "branding" and the big business around it that has a stranglehold on Indian cricket. Link to comment
