Only legacy that he'll leave behind is planning to rub a sandpaper on a cricket ball.
Norman Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 58 overs left today. We'll probably get 50. So Australia should bat 30 overs , look to score a tad 5 RPO , get that lead to 350 and give themselves 100 or so overs (weather looks encouraging tomorrow) to skittle out England.

I would say that he is certainly among the best openers of this decade across all three formats.

Too risky after Headingley. They need to bat to the close at 3-4 RPO to ensure that they have at least a lead of 400runs on the board. Tomorrow they can attack all day. It will be like Edgbaston all over again.

It's going to come down to Lyon to redeem himself. He was brilliant in Edgbaston on Day 5 but has looked a little flat since then. They need to play it safe here. I would genuinely be surprised if Paine declared with a lead less than 400 (assuming they reach there)
JourneyMan Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 The overall batting from both sides has been terrible this series. Smith is obviously the exception, Burns and Labuschagne have also been decent. Root and Stokes had a couple of good innings. Apart from that it has been shockingly bad.

Since when getting beaten is being lucky? he gets beaten like normal batsman does against good balls? That's it.
