Both brown and mallu rice has its own taste ( because in rice husk and outer layer has its own taste and nutrients ) Mallus and also in coastal Karnataka I've met a few people who eat red rice though I'm not sure if they all do. Yeah the grains are huge and we eat a lot of it. :D
Alam_dar Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 I noticed that all of my Bihari friends used to eat White poliched rice in breakfast, lunch and dinner. My Nepali friends were also not much different when it came to eating rice (They also used white polished rice). But I may be wrong as it was a student life. 3 hours ago, coffee_rules said: You should replace all kinds of white rice (basmati, sona masoori, jasmine) with millets. Raagi can be ground and the flour mixed in water and get a texture like the chapati flour and it can be hand-pressed on a tawa to make wonderful rotis (we call it rotti). Add onion and chillies, it is heaven eaten by marinating the rottis with ghee. The same can be done with Bajra/Jowar flour as well. For raagi, we also make it by mixing it in boiling water and knead it to make balls. It can be devoured with sambar/rasam/gojju (sour/sweet sauce). Other millets (and even Quinoa) can be eaten, by making khicdi mixing with veggies or make a pulav. I even make upma/bisi bele baath with all kinds of millets. best way ... replace rice in your diet. If you want to eat rice only, best way is to get used to red rice (or brown). Thanks a lot. I am already hungry, but I have to go to the market to buy raagi flour first. I don't like this extra step of shopping first when I am hungry. Actually also don't like to cook when I am hungry. There I only wish to be served on the table immediately ... and if someone could also feed it in my mouth then I am already in heaven. ... Wishes that never come True ...

Now-a-days people have started eating meat every day. Thus, for me Eid is that day when one does not eat meat now-a-days. Eid Mubarak to you. And for the Bakra .... Ina lillahe wa Inna alaihi Rajioon (this Dua is read when a person dies).
