He removed the bails after the stipulated time to appear on the field elapsed PER THE RULES. There's nothing wrong with that, and he paid the price for doing his job per the rules. Sorry, but spirit of cricket, while important, should not be allowed to govern the game, only rules should. What is the guarantee Pakistan team would have come out in another 5 minutes, they didn't indicate as such, did they? How much longer should he have waited? In this particular incident, he was not at fault. This argument only holds for the forfeiture part, not the cause (ball tampering issue), that's whole another issue.
