Why is dhruv jurel missing from this team?? apparently he is a prolific run scorer.. nd captained india u19 to victory in asia cup..

They are giving chances to different players.

Not a lot of prodigious batting talent in this latest cohort of U19 team - except Yash Jaiswal. Although Jaiswal shouldn't be playing U19 at all.

Jaiswal, priyam Garg, Arjun Azad

thanks for sharing. he seems like a decent batsman. his build is rather slight, which means that he will probably not be very good at the big hits. he played a fairly wide range of shots.

Shaw is short and slight but can play big shots. Azad is known for aggressive batting.

Afghans have bested Indian colts for the 2nd time in this series. Yash Jaiswal missing in both these matches. Priam Garg wasn't playing either today. I wasn't wrong when I said this cohort of U19 from India has NOT ONE interesting batting prospect save the two players who have already made their mark in domestic FC and LOI cricket.

Also, cricinfo has carried an interview with Dravid where he makes a lot of noise about how important it is that these boys go on to have a successful FC career. Point noted. But if that is the goal, then why pull out Yashashvi and Priam from their domestic duties for this U19 charade?

Personally, I am most excited about Yashashvi partnering Prithvi at the top of the order for Mumbai this Ranji season. Hopefully Dravid won't ruin it for me.

dravid, for all his merits, has a tendency to experiment too much. I hope that the youngsters who have already made it to ranjis are allowed to play FCs/List A and not called up often for U19 matches.
