Cricketics Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 we have seen many players do certain unique things on field which works for them once.. but then they get obsessed with it and keep doing it over and over.. for example, u see Dwayne bravo.. after bowling that slow one to Yuvi during that 06 series, which eventually won windies that game.. bravo has been bowling slow ones on regular occasions and has been very predictable of late.. and here he doesn't get rid of it.. just now i see him bowling those slow ones every 2nd delivery.. why so? prety frustrating to see that.. any such player or habit which u hate?.. i am sure there are many batsmans who tend to play revese sweep or certain shot which certainly doesn't work for them ever but they keep tryin and trying..
siddhu Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Chukhtar flaunting like he would have had a wicket after every single delivery... Afridi who thinks that he can send every ball into oblivion... Ponting/Clarke's arrogance... (Sometimes in ODI) Rahul Dravids (over)exhagerated defence... Sreesanth's over agressiveness... just to name a few....
OriginalCopy Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Indian pace bowling coaches' obsession with line and length sacrificing pace in the bargain so consistently. As a result, we have Munaf who once was among the fastest bowlers in the country is now slower than Azhar Mahmood! Same goes with Pathan, he started as a bowler with decent pace, but soon fell back to bowling so slow that people were having a tought time calling him even a medium fast bowler. I am not sure why the coaches think that you need to sacrifice speed in order to achieve line and length. I think it is just an easy escape route out. Pace bowling takes great effort and it takes a lot of heart to keep bowling fast, unfortunately we do not have too many that can do that consistently. Just hope Ishant and SS don't fall prey to bowling slower to maintain the line and length. And I don't want to hear any lectures that line and length are the key, bowlers can still succeed bowling line and length without pace ... blah blah blah ... My point is why can't coaches stress to bowl line and length WHILE keeping the pace intact. Why do they let / ask bowlers to drop pace and concentrate and line and length.
Temujin Khaghan Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Iam a great fan of sachin, but i dont like the way tends to exaggerate the low-bouncing balls which manage to hit his stumps sometimes. He acts as if he was floored with the delivery. I hate it when he does that. C'mon Sachin, u r much better than that!
Dhondy Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Welcome Temjuin. I read your posts on another forum. Pretty impressive stuff, and glad to have you here.
fineleg Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Mohd. Kaif - very fidgety when he bats...so fidgety that it gets irritating. I'd rather watch Katrina Kaif bat than Mohd. Kaif!
Captain of Bhangra Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I wouldn't complain if she attacked my middle stump. In fact, I'd have plenty of deliveries for her to face up to...
Desi Cartman Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Jayasuriya getting ready to face a delivery .. why does he need to touch every part of his body ..:nervous:
Rajiv Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Ganguly's 5 min make-up session with his eyes before each delivery
fineleg Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Ganguly's 5 min make-up session with his eyes before each delivery blink...blink, blink...blink...nose... PS: Krish Srikkanth used to do things with his nose, because of sinus.
Guest Hiten. Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Anything and everything that Sreesanth does
Vignesh Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Sourav Rotating his eyes every goddamn ball Dinesh Mongia Kissing his bat every ball Dhoni rotating his arms before settling into his stance etc to name a few
Willow_on_fire Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 blink...blink, blink...blink...nose... PS: Krish Srikkanth used to do things with his nose, because of sinus. :haha:...true...and Dhoni re-strapping his gloves after every delivery bowled at him...:giggle:
DomainK Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Andre Nel staring down at the batsman after every delivery. Too bloody irritating. Sourav Ganguly messing up while running between the wickets. How many years does it take to learn the basics and respond to a partner? Mahendra Singh Dhoni going overboard with bolly beauties. Control your emotions as-s hole and if you must woo an actress, dont invite the press to cover your wooing, her rejection and then her subsequent attention to your vice captain. Sreesanth's over exaggerated demonstration of excitement. You move that as-s pretty nice, we all have seen it....now concentrate on moving the ball for a change. I will add more...
mhr123 Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 What Abt The Fast Bowler Who Used To Play For South Africa .. De Villaas (sry If I Typed His Name Wrong) Used To Put The Ball Under His Ampit After Each Delivery To Get More Sweat On The Ball For More Shine... Really Was Very Irritating To See Him Doing That.
comm_box Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 The way Yuvraj Singh got out twice on the deep trying to hit sixes. It will happen third time again very soon.
