Simply put , far off from adequate for a vital one down test specialist batsman.You should rate WI too because , it is the back to back series wins in that country too that has put India in the place of the no:1 test team.

Don't forget that Pujara made his debut in 2010 Also on one hand, you want to claim that Rahane is better overseas, his forte, when in fact Pujara has scored more runs and 100s including helping Ind to a series win in Aus and that too when playing in the top order facing the new ball (many times has been a virtual opener). Pujara should have taken on from the good performance in AUS in his further SENA+ WI series but he is not able to do it either. So I feel him to be one of the main problems in this line up.
