In that scenario, it would constitute SL (if considering sea) and BD (if considering all foreign. Ind does not go to Pak atm) as well. These 3 are not strong test sides atm so there is no point in putting those in the basket and that too by adding one w/o the others In SENA (for a reason the term is coined), as I said Pujara avgs 60 (well ahead of other experienced players) in his last 7 tests! Since not everyone can be successful in every series, I would prefer fringe players to set up vs fringe teams. The big players can perform vs big teams Imp part is 2 of his last 2 series

If big players have to fail rather vs fringe teams heard 1st time a player gets a free pass for failing vs a team ok lets take ur word of sena but these avg is not even making him pass in SEN ...only passes in A-australia. Even Rohit n Dhawan pass in one country among SENA btw SA- 31 NZ-14 ENG- 29 Edited February 23, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03

After his 100 in Eng, he is playing differently And in the current test vs NZ, he batted well. Got out to a great ball (1st inng) and misjudged Boult (only mistake he made) We should be happy that we have a player who steps in to blunt the new ball esp. when one of the openers gets out early vs top SENA bowlers in SENA and protects the MO against the new ball vs relatively fresh bowlers Edited February 23, 2020 by zen

He too has a very modest T20 record. As per you logic Vijay should have got an extraordinary T20 RECORD .Isn't it? The reason for me is simple. I think Vijay proves the OP point; there was period of time when he was good IPL bat- scored a great ton in a final years ago- was a poor test opener. His IPL runs and form dried up as he became a test class opener. I think very few players can play play all three formats; and there are some good T20 players- Rana, Shreyas Gopal, Surya Kumar- who have not got a chance though they deserve it

A batsman job is also to score runs not just see off the ball speciall when the plan is to play 5 batsman Edited February 23, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03

Every few batsmen do well in every series they play in .... so I would rather that Pujara-Kohli (the best experienced test batsmen for Ind) fail in WI (which is not even counted in SENA) Already explained, that he was not settled in SA. Once he got into his groove and after that 100 in Eng, he became MOS in Aus, one of the biggest achievements recently. Also has looked good in NZ so far Since the same points are being put in different ways, I do not think you have anything new to add Edited February 23, 2020 by zen

It was rahane who was dropped in Sa not pujara Quote I do not think you have anything new to add anymore Ur the one repeating last 7 test like one guy here who says all rounder dont exist use performances acc to his convinace rather large sample size Edited February 23, 2020 by Ankit_sharma03

Smith also pilled on runs in ashes but still at the end ashes was draw. They all stepped up- mayank, pant, kohli , rahane all contributed. Surely pujara was massive but other to did. In case of others its always been 1-2 players which is why team suffered. That one series is to be taken with many many poor series as well

Without Pujara, Ind would not have won the series To summarize 50 in SA Ind won 72 in Eng Ind won 132* in Eng the whole series in Aus - that is alone worth tons of performances .... legendary performance No one has performed like this in SENA recently and averages 60 in his last 7 tests
