But in 9th Hijri, Muhammad got "absolute power" and none in whole Arabia got the chance to oppose him. And this verse i.e. 9:5 is about killing the Kafirs (Polytheists) of whole Arabia. Therefore, even if we have to believe that some tribes of Mecca didn't obey the treaty, still how could Muhammad threaten the Polytheists of whole Arabia to either accept Islam, or to be killed after 4 months? Yes, verse 9:5 is the main reason why whole Arabia was compelled to accept Islam. (Quran 9:5) And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah (i.e. they accept Islam), then let them go (i.e. they are safe) (2) Second lie is this when Zakir Naik is claiming that Polytheists could only be killed in the "battlefield" No, this is again big lie Quran is explicit that after 4 months, Polytheists in whole Arabia will be killed anywhere if Muslims found them, irrespective of them living peacefully or not. There is no condition of "battlefield" in Quranic verse. And here is the Hadith, how Muslims slaughtered the peaceful Polytheists after the revelation of this verse. Sahih Muslim, Kitab-ul-Fadail (link): Jabir reported that there was in pre-Islamic days a temple called Dhu'l- Khalasah and it was called the Yamanite Ka'ba or the northern Ka'ba. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said unto me: Will you rid me of Dhu'l-Khalasah and so I went forth at the head of 350 horsemen of the tribe of Ahmas and we destroyed it and killed whomsoever we found there. Then we came back to him (to the Holy Prophet) and informed him and he blessed us and the tribe of Ahmas. (3) Please note that even "Jizya" was also not allowed from the Polytheists. Yes, according to verse 9:29, Jizya is allowed only for the people of Book (i.e. Jews/Christians and Zoroastrians). Therefore, according to Quran, after 4 months, all the Polytheists should have been killed, except this that they accept Islam under the shadow of Muslim sword. This is how Islam was spread in Arabia (4) And not only the Polytheist of Arabia, but according to "majority" of Ulama, this Quran Order is about killing of all the Polytheists in whole world, and it is still valid today. This means, all the Hindus should be killed too today and they are not even allowed to live by paying Jizya. The Saudis follow the Salafi Fiqh, and according to them all Hindus should be killed today. Actually, Saudi Grand Muftis still have this open Fatwa present a their website (link). He writes: // the most correct view is that no others (except 3 groups of Jews/Christians/Magians) should be given this choice, rather these three groups are the only ones who may be given the choice, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fought the kuffaar in the Arabian Peninsula and he only accepted their becoming Muslim. // That is why Salafi ISIS accepted Jizya from the Christians in Iraq, but killed all the Yazidi Men and took their women and children as slaves. (5) The Sultans who invaded India, they followed the Hanafi Fiqh. The order of slaughtering all the Polytheists was such a shameful act, that later Imam Abu Hanifa deviated from it, by making this excuse that this Verse 9:5 was ONLY about killing all the Polytheists of Arabia. Therefore, he further said that Polytheists of rest of the world (including India) could pay the Jizya too and they would not be killed. Thus Mughals and all other Muslim invaders took Jizya from Hindus, but they let them live. (6) Even if today any real Salafi Caliphate is established in Saudia or other parts of world, then they will certainly kill all the Hindus and Buddhists and Atheists.
