unmm you mean the guy the guy that was thrown out and replaced by part time wicket keeper KL Rahul ? Says alot about those dead rubber pattas. Amount of runs Dhoni scored in first ever away England tour and especially Winning series says alot. 52 average and his crucial 92 is better than any innings played by any wk. Obviously selfish chamchas wouldn't have a clue about it because ailiaaaa 100 mara even if India lost.

Thailam chamchas don't know that Sachin has 40 100s in test cricket where India didn't lose the match. Only Kallis has better number (42)

Taking credit for others' contribution started from here :phehe:

Sorry he didn't get whitewashed at home like RSA did to Tendiyas team. :bootyshake:

Yeh sachin wasn't part of that T20WC that's his biggest contribution orelse he would have choked as usual.

Never knew Rishabh Pant got replaced in test cricket by a part time wicket keeper. Dhoni is lucky in that sense. Didn't get replaced by anyone even after being pathetic for more than a decade :phehe:

Coming to the part time wicket keeper. The part-time wicket keeper has more 100s in New Zealand than Thailam has in his entire career. :phehe:

Dead rubber pattas - Dhoni couldnt manage to score a single 100 even on those 'dead rubber pattas' :phehe:

He was replaced by KL in white ball format and Saha took his place in Tests. He was thrown out like trash:giggle: Has more average in that winning series in England than Ailiaaaaa. Chamchas should know their aukat.

Someone who got thrown out like trash also has more 100s in SENA than Thailam. Let that sink in. Talk about aukat now :phehe:

But got white washed 4-0 in Aus, England and then lost home series against Eng. Brought No.1 ranked team to No.7 and then ran away:bumsmack: :phehe:

I completely agree. On so many forums of other countries, over the years, i have seen sachin compared with everyone from Bradman, Lara, De Silva, Waughs, even jayasuriya, Afridi, to now Cook, Root, Babbar. I have always told them, the day a player will be greater or Sachin will be lesser is when Sachin is removed from that one constant of comparison and someone else takes their place. One player cannot be hogging almost every comparison and then you claiming he is no where near the top

It is mostly the Sachin fanboys who are doing the comparison :winky:

Got India to no.1 in test rankings you never said. Ailiaaa fans have no right to talk about captaincy. Got whitewashed at home shamelessly and he was thrown out just to be replaced with Ganguly.

Though not a big fan of Dhoni’s last leg of his career - Dhoni coming out to bat with Ind at 114/3  is an iconic moment .... Played good knocks in 2015 and 2019 WC SFs as well

Also his contribution as a keeper and captain cannot be overlooked!

It's funny people have balls to say it's only one match. I mean dude that's the only big thing we have since 1984 :giggle:   2011 WC would be a just another cup if he choked like ailiaaa in 2003 finals. Not that he did anything special in 2011 finals but still... There is a reason Tendiya could never be a successful captain.

If you take MO batting + Keeping + Captaincy, Dhoni is probably the most valuable ODI cricketer of India

Not really threads are opened by that countries fans saying X player is better than sachin

And if sachin hadn't played well in 2011 semis, it would have been just another cup like 87, 92, 96, 99, 2007, 2015 where we were eliminated at semis or before

:phehe: Good joke. He wasn't there in 2007 t20 WC we won. He wasn't there in 2013 CT we won. We were in finals of 2014 and 2017 aswell. :bootyshake:

I agree that each knock has relevance. I watched all of Sachin's knocks in semi finals.

  • 96 SF. Looked the best batsman from the team (was in form too) but should have continued on (the difference b/w SL batsmen and Indian batsman in the tournament) esp. since the pitch was getting difficult to bat. Though India can't complain as it won the toss and chose to field
  • 03 SF: Was against Kenya. So would not dwell on it much. Ganguly helped himself to a 100
  • 11 SF: A relatively nervous knock but helped Ind post a total on the board. Departed at 187, so credit to Dhoni and Raina as well for taking Ind to 260.

In 1996, Ind was bundled out post his dismissal. In 2011, the story could have been repeated if not for some fighting knocks down the order (and that Pak has lost somehow in WCs). They are all good knocks. The issue is not putting some runs on board but going a step further to close the deal for the team - Ponting in 2003, Arvinda in 1996. In the two finals Sachin played in, Ind was chasing. As the most experienced player in the team, fans had more expectations.

Dhoni never choked , he just didn't care. There is a big difference. In those matches he probably was experimenting new things (lile he always does )and thought that was more important than winning/contributing for  the match.
