ODI top order players in 70s-80s

The game was played differently. Red ball cricket. Many teams reached 100 b/w 25th and 30th over to push for 220-250. No power plays. If I am not wrong, white ball cricket was limited to tri series in Australia (not sure when they introduced had power plays in Aus. May be in 1980)

 

Most of the openers below in the 70s to 80s period were also test openers .... How would today's openers fair opening playing red ball cricket without power plays?

you're wrong - Fielding restrictions were definitely a thing in the 80s "World Series" in Aus.  I distinctly remember that - its one of my earliest cricket memories.  

 

A run-rate of more than 3 was considered "good" and 'fast'.  The odd boundary by a nose-twitching Srikanth was celebrated as a daredevil act of bravery.

I think white ball openers are diverging from their red-ball counterparts.

World Series with field restriction probably coming into play in 80s as an exception is listed in the OP though:

Did the 87' "Reliance" Cup have power plays? I think they did.

No. PPs were introduced in WCs in 1992.  White balls, coloured clothing & MoS award were also introduced in WCs in 1992.
