How can Vihari cement his place in indian team

I want Ranji system to continue the way it is. Then a longer Duleep Trophy like tourney (6 teams maybe?), round-robin followed by final, wrap it up in 2 months. Will be cool if this 6 team event or at least a portion of it can be played overseas (with each of the teams playing one D/N match), we can come to an arrangement with RSA and play there whilst giving our grounds to them for part of their FC season, both teams will benefit and we can reach favorable terms in this kind of deal (difficult with CA, ECB). No NZ/WI since timing will be inconvenient.

 

 Entirety of Ranji at home obviously.

Bihar+Jharkhand,Mp+Chattisgarh etc can be done

 

That can be a good group 

 

At regional level, you would have matches among Bihar, Jharkhand, MP & Chattisgarh, and at the national level, you would have the common Ranji team playing against other such relatively stronger regional teams

So you are in for some kind of a change as well but you have focused on the Duleep Trophy, turning it more into an IPL type of competition (but probably without the IPL franchise financial muscle) wrapped up in 2 months. However, if the teams are randomly selected for a short term, the chance of players bonding and playing for the team would be negatively impacted as discussed here - Link
