Ashwin Vs Kumble- Who is India's greatest spinner?

DRS is definitely a boon for current bowlers.. may not be now but ashwin will surely end up as best indian bowler and probably will rank behind Kapil/SRT as GOATs of India

yes.. looks like ashwin doesnt bowl doosra anymore.. also the one to Pope is his version of doosra where the revolutions are similar to offspin but some how goes the other way..  his conventional carrom ball is not so useful in tests i feel

Ashwin never bowled the doosra. The only time he had to "bend" his arms was to mock Naraine and other chuckers by wearing full sleeves once in 2012.

 

Ashwin always has had his carrom ball, indeed, but the Pope dismissals were a function of his wrist and the seam. The second innings one was essentially an 'outswinging' arm ball from over the stumps.

agree.. if i remember correctly, seam wasnt pointing to slip like it does for pacers.. he conjures up some trick to make it go with the arm or turn ever so slightly

I will always have a soft spot for kumble, but I think ashwin has equaled him in india and has been doing better overseas as of late. and if we look at the whole package, ash is a better batsman and poorer fielder than kumble.
