Predator_05 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Based on what we've seen in the IPL thus far, what would an Indian second string XI look like ? Dhawan Rahane Raina Tiwary Virat Kohli* Jadeja Karthik+ Gony Ojha Trivedi Sangwan We haven't seen Sangwan or Tiwary yet, and not all of them have made a big impression like Dhawan, Raina, Virat, Jadeja, etc. have. But on paper, this looks like a damn good team. Most other countries can't boast of international class talent in all three departments like India can at the moment.
Predator_05 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Chawla is already an established member of the Indian squad
Ram Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Chawla is already an established member of the Indian squad And Karthik isnt?
Predator_05 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 And Karthik isnt? Yes he is, fair point. I picked him 'cos i couldn't think of another 'keeper. Mahesh Rawat ?
Predator_05 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Feel free to list your own Indian reserve XIs - there are plenty of good young players to choose from
Ram Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Yes he is' date=' fair point. I picked him 'cos i couldn't think of another 'keeper. Mahesh Rawat ?[/quote'] I dont know myself. Maybe you should names like Kaif too.
Yuvraj4Captaincy Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Chawla is already an established member of the Indian squad lollll I dont even want him in punjab team...but I guess he will hopefully improve
Gambit Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I'd put Dravid and Ganguly in there somewhere too :-D
Ram Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Dhawan Rahane Raina Tiwary Virat Kohli* Jadeja Karthik+ Gony Ojha Trivedi Sangwan This sounds good. If we actually look past just youngsters alone, my line-up would be this Dhawan Rahane Raina Tiwary Virat Kohli* Kaif Karthik+ Gony Murali Karthik Agarkar Sangwan
Ram Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 And we havent talked about names like Munaf, who is still only 24.
h4te Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 BADRI! The Gony dude was good in the first match. 135-140. Good build (no homo). He's a good prospect.
flamy Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Dhawan Rahane Raina Badrinath Kohli Jadeja Shreevats Goswami (U-19 Keeper) Gony Ali Murtaza (sad that he is ICL) Trivedi Sangwan Pankaj Singh Tiwary
amits Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 dhawan khaleel(w)(although he is in icl, but the icl ban will most likely be removed by 2009) rahane raina badrinath© virat kohli ravindra jadeja gony ojha ali murtaza(although he is in icl, but the icl ban will most likely be removed by 2009) pankaj singh
h4te Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Dhawan Rahane Raina Badrinath Kohli Jadeja Shreevats Goswami (U-19 Keeper) Gony Ali Murtaza (sad that he is ICL) Trivedi Sangwan Pankaj Singh Tiwary the ban will be lifted soon! Ali Murtaza is class. 1000000x better than chawla
Predator_05 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Even though he hasn't made an impression yet, Yusuf Pathan would be a shoe-in for that reserve XI.
msb1991 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I do not rate Trivedi. He is an average bowler at best. Gony is FAR from the finished product too, with just a handful of FC games under his belt. Sangwan has not proved himself in the IPL, against good opposition and was expensive in the U19 World Cup. The batting is promising, but the bowling is poor. the ban will be lifted soon! Ali Murtaza is class. 1000000x better than chawla Too premature! He has only shown himself to be a containment bowler in the ICL. He'll need good 50 over and 4 day performances to prove himself as '1000000x better than chawla'. Chawla has a very good FC record and List A record, which is worth far more than Murtaza containing in a T20 league which contains many poor Indian domestics.
