So lets see the timeline which began in 2019 till which the relationship was hunky dory

 

1. Failing to choose a no 4 batsman and then blown away in semi finals. BCCI previous board complained to new board about kohlis temperment in team selection which started back in south africa series with rahane bhuvi fisaco

2. The precursor was eng series in which pujara was dropped for test 1 and kuldeep chosen in lords

3. Post world cup fisaco suddenly kohli decided to play all and sundry intl t20 s and matches which he would have avoided previously fearing rohits rise. In middle rohit won two Ipls

4 Aus series. Bcci mandarins were fearful n not happy with he leaving due to maternity. After 36 all out they feared 4-0 and thats where tables turned and with the win they started go get upper hand. Also during the series there was the rohit sharma injury n communication issue. 
5. WTC loss and kohlis selection issue. Uneasiness was brewing. 
6. Eng 5th test: KOHLI scuppered the match n embarrassed bcci the day after dhoni was announced as mentor. 
7. Meeting was held and kohli wanted rohit to be sacked as odi vc and rahul/ pant vc. 
8. Bcci leaked it n kohli resigned from t20 captaincy.

Problem is that you could come up with a list of mistakes/issue  for any captain and justify replacing him. Problem is the new guy will be human too and therefore will make his own mistakes. So, rather than whining about this, the BCCI should realistically evaluate the team they have, and ask a captain to deliver a minimum success rate or set of benchmarks over a certain period e.g. 2 or 3 years. Then, if that is not met, make the call to replace if they think there is someone else could do a better job. That way, emotions are taken out of it, and everybody is on the same page. There has to be a better way of doing things than picking a guy, put him on a pedestal, and then over a period of time take pot shots at the guy while at the same time, saying they back him. Then, picking a new flavor and repeat the mess.

Management cant be blamed at all for not meeting Kohlis demands each time he threw toys off pram. I hope stick approach works with him. In fact most likey thats the approach they should have taken long back and he might have taken his role more seriously 

What stick? The World Cup is his last t20 tournament as captain, regardless.  And, they could have chosen a different time, other than just before a World Cup, to show off their little stick. Finally, do you really think that Ganguly and the home minister’s child have less power than Kohli? These guys are hypocrites. Either back a guy or replace him. What they are doing now is nonsense

I agree he should have been given stick long back (After Kumble episode) but better late then never. He is a legendary player and you don't disrespect it when he goes and announces his resignation. Now if Kohli anounced his resignation because he think MSD is a stick, its probably him throwing same tantrums
