THX_1138 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I have to thank the few ladies gracious enough to bejewel my life in the past decade and half for their tempering effect on my mind. and one such impact has been the numerous books and motion pictures i was introduced to as a result. Yesterday i downloaded a show called "reaper" off the web and though the show was pretty bland, it did have the oh so gorgeous Missy Peregrym. And that had me remenising to past times and a flick that i watched on the insistance of an ex: Stick It. an "inspired by real life" story of a rebel teenager who turns to amateur gymnastics as an alternate avenue for her pent up aggression. so in that breathe i made this thread and just wanted to know more about the other posters here and their experiences with books and movies that they would not have picked up at first glance. the most prominent ones i can think of are: 1. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte 2. just about anything by Jane Austen (which yes i will admit i have read almost exclusively with the intent of furthering my genetic code). 3. chitra banerjee divakaruni who i met in 2002 when she wrote an introduction for the first edition of our biannual literature magazine published by the graduate indian student association. as for movies: 1. bbc series: pride and prejudice 2. ever after (started my infatuation with drew barymore) 3. image me and you 4. boys dont cry...

My list: Jerry Maguire Notting Hill Love Actually When Harry met Sally well its not a movie most people pick up at first glance... nonetheless, love actually was quite good... as for when harry met sally, i could shoot that movie in the head and still not feel adequately masculine. in the breath, there is of course "youve got mail".
