So far Kohli has been deadwood this season:

1. Flailing Wildly or Poking at deliveries wide of off stump
2. Looking out of place with short deliveries on off stump
3. Running people out or getting run out himself
4. Brisk Net sessions masquerading as T20 innings

Jadeja and Rohit can also be added to this list.

Jadeja hasn't been his usual self this IPL.

And Rohit seems to have regressed just like Kohli.

 

But since these chaps are probably in the Teak or Sandalwood category of deadwood; people look right past current utility and dream about future prospects based on past records.
