Future of Indian chess brighter than even before. we can never beat the peak Soviet era in terms of dominance, but with proper Govt support, we can come somewhat close to them. Gollum 1

Peter Svidler recently said that the young talent India is putting out dwarves what Soviets did in their day. But we may not dominate like that as chess is more global now, more competition.

In western countries their billionaires open their treasure chest for so many of their sports, eg US wrestling by that du Pont guy (Foxcatcher), or Sinquefields for US chess.
