Majestic Posted August 21, 2025 Author Posted August 21, 2025 Also, @VVS Laxman pitches were more batting friendly in Kapil era than the era in which Jadeja played. Indian pitches were flat in Kapil’s time while they are turning pitches in Jadeja’s time so batting is harder. That’s why I do rate Kapil as a bowler > Jadeja. As a batter, Jadeja could have averaged more if Indian pitches were more flatter.
Zero_Unit Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I will always hold older generation player with high regards if they showed any glimps of greatness. Reason being, today, these players have access to high end tech, support, analysis, and what not. Even the gears they use for sports are much better in quality vs old timers. The bats they used back then vs the bats today, the engineering of it has defintiely improved. Looking at the videos of old days, those flat bats without much of a 'ping' I would assume vs today's bats.
Majestic Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 Imagine a batsman in today’s time getting injured by a Joe Root bouncer
