BacktoCricaddict Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 On 10/10/2022 at 11:43 AM, sage said: Why make this about race? Both England and Australia have different views on this. English culture and media are sticklers for 'spirit of the game', Australia play with a win at all cost mentality You are right - it is not about race. It is about power. Eng and Aus controlled cricket until recently and tried to impose fake values on others that (a) they themselves don't follow or (b) excludes all the crap they pull (vaseline, bail-removal, tup-catches, sandpaper, brainfade ... need I go on?). And WADR it is laughable to say that English culture are sticklers for "spirit of the game." Where does that spirit go when their guy Jos frequently cheats up the pitch by 3-4 feet in a sport where you can get run out by half-an-inch? Spirit, indeed.
BacktoCricaddict Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 I have a new idea to stop Mankading. Set up a sensor or camera on the non-striker end. Just like they call overstep no-balls with a siren from the booth, call out the bat-lifters with a siren too. Dock them 4 runs every time they lift the bat or drag it even an inch from the crease before the ball leaves the bowler's hand. If you do it again, you are out of there. Scorecard: Roy c Pant b Bumrah 20 Buttler cheat-out 17
