1 or 2 matches in a 4 game series can be like this. But making such tracks an identity is not going to take our cricket forward. Indian fans love jingoism of getting one over these "bloody goras" but they need to understand extreme kind of pitches all over the country will degrade other skills of the game.

These are testing conditions and the best will get rewarded when they play a top knock here. That's test cricket. Also, I think this Delhi wicket is pretty good. Both teams got to 250+ and Australia are 62/1 now as well. FFS, if Axar Patel can score 74 and 84, pitch criticism should be put to rest.

The Delhi pitch is pretty good as Australia have shown while batting on it.

You cannot blame the ineptness of our batsmen on the pitch. In Test cricket, there should be an even contest between bat and ball. We prepared a flat track in Chennai for the first test against England and look what happened with Root piling on the runs after winning the toss and us getting skittled out batting last on a deteriorating pitch.

Usually, any game in India where less than 1000 runs are scored, esp. where the average first inning score is less than 300 (At Delhi, it is 262.5), the surface is questionable.

I am not surprised to read posts where India is encouraged to cheat because it may not win toss, opponent’s players can do well, etc., as if everything worse is to be reserved for the other team, while India needs to get the best of everything! … In short, a thinking driven by logical fallacies!
