IIRC, from this game on wards, we saw a large scale use of extreme to rank turners in India. It was new in 90s so relatively speaking exciting but now it has probably become stale with many cricket fans, including yours truly, wanting to move away from such.

I want a pitch that offers turn. Not extreme turn but I also want bounce for pace bowlers.

You mean today delhis pitch which is assisting both spinners and pacers beautifully?

SL batted 120 overs on second inning but still scored only 198. Must be on hell of a snooze feast.

In the Delhi test, OZ’s B grade bowling attack with 2 new/relatively unknown spinners is giving Ind’s top spin attack a run for its money on the tailored pitch (and bowling to batsmen experienced to play in such conditions)!
 

Recently, have rarely seen visiting teams play their best set of bowlers in India, which fields its best bowlers.

In delhi test, india plays a washed up batting lineup on a turner and still giving a fight.

 

A lineup where many would struggle to score in Ranjis.

 

Not even a B grade lineup.

 

The same lineup that almost drew a series against Bangladesh.

 

Rarely has india fielded its best set of batsmen at home.

I hope that the Delhi test is the beginning of the end of extreme to rank turners in India. 
 

This is a relatively unsporting way of playing cricket, designed to make dwarfs appear like giants.

Why not bring sehwag and vijay in?

I expected the bounce in pitch to hold up but looks like it didnt.

 

The variable bounce has started which makes the pitch tough to bat on.

Never wanted such wickets where one skill of the game gets disproportionate favors. It only reduces gap between a good spinner and an average spinner. Also to an extent it nullifies the skills of batsmen and magnifies the luck factor.

But then this team wants to be treated like kings where everything has to be as per their whims and fancies. They want commentators who only praise them, they want tracks where they can win in 3 days lol

This isn't such a bad wicket, we've seen worse, but our woeful batting & batting second usually leads to lot of pressure on the flailing incumbents in the top 6

The trend should continue..let the players learn to play spin on turning pitches just like they have been told to learn to play pace on pacy conditions with variable bounce or swing/seam on overcast conditions.

35 year oldies have nothing left to learn sadly.  Watching old age home learn isn't my preferred time pass. 

Will gladly take a newbie batting order & a young captain to start this learning phase.

I was referring to overseas players in general. Since we are told to learn bounce or swing/seam in overseas conditions, same applies for overseas players in India.

1 or 2 matches in a 4 game series can be like this. But making such tracks an identity is not going to take our cricket forward. Indian fans love jingoism of getting one over these "bloody goras" but they need to understand extreme kind of pitches all over the country will degrade other skills of the game.

Indian cricket is relatively immature where thinking can be driven by logical fallacies. 

“Jingoism” too is nothing more than a type of logical fallacy used to justify wrong behaviour (of creating an unsporting environment to play the sport).

That Indian batting line up was terrific, great dept, shastri could have carried on for a few more years, he was needed.
