tapandrun Posted February 20, 2023 Share Posted February 20, 2023 BCCI has made it clear to the players that it wants them to play IPL at any cost and they can take break, down-time or time off during the Intnl season. Both Players and BCCI has come to an agreement on this. Also players find more affinity in their IPL teams and consider their IPL teams as more of their ownerships. Can not blame any1 here both are trying to make money and every board is doing that CSA did that by not touring Aus in-order to get their league started. Sri-lanka Cricket played their league rather than hosting an Intl series, its all down to cheque and balances. Link to comment

Sri-lanka Cricket played their league rather than hosting an Intl series, its all down to cheque and balances. the bigger picture all these boards don't get is that the money their leagues attract is due to players making it big internationally first... they are killing their own cash cow by side-lining international matches.. and in the future every league will be filled with mediocre uncompetitive players who will look the same after a while and the whole system of franchises will collapse... NBA/NHL etc is different as these sports haven't tradionatlly ben international heavy like football. Their international calendar is way way smaller than Cricket.. you cant turn a sport 180degress from its roots and expect fans to still resonate with it as a long term product Sandz 1 Link to comment
