Bumrah, yet to get NCA clearance, is likely to play directly in the IPL.

IPL forms a large part of income for the players so it is understandable that players would want to play it (helps in a big way to support their families, lifestyle, retirement, etc.)

The issue with social media opinion is that it is driven by average folks. And what do average (even below average) folks do? They try to drag you down to the average level.

why should he?  Would you?

If his body is not capable of handling all three formats then just say no thanks I will just focus on IPL and T20Is.. no one would have an issue with that. His IPL stardom and fame has increased due to his performances in Tests, not the other way around.

This is a classic case of having ones cake and eating it too.. how is BCCI setting a precedent that a IPL star can pick and choose his workload and miss many Tests due to injury, then be magically fit for IPL and then is selected in WTC finals or Test without any first class games to reintroduce long format form? BCCI has to be clear on their stance as to what THEIR priority is.. if all they do is facilitate making more money and to protect IPL as their marque cash cow event then why bother saying they are serious about Tests... lets face it in an hypothetical scenario BCCI withdraws from Tests, it wont have any impact on their finances as 80/90% of their rights are for IPL and LOI cricket. That way fans are not made a chutiya by giving them the impression that they care about Test matches when they dont

Its very clear that IPL cash is what BCCI cares for  the most. Everything gets planned around that.

The team owners.. those bollywoods chuts  and industrialists will sue BCCIs pichwada giving how much investment they have made.

ECB is the best run cricket board on the planet.

They play over 15 tests every year year, sometimes 18.

They have not only prioritized test cricket - simultaneously they have also revolutionized LOI cricket - their assembly line of gun batsmen in LOI is much better qualitatively than ours despite a much much smaller pool to pick from. They have smashed teams around in LOIs winning the World Cup and now playing a crazy aggressive brand of Test cricket.

BCCI chadarmods are there only to make an ass out of aam junta.

How many ICC trophies and gun batsmen  of international  class has IPL given India ?

BCCI chadarmods have sold Indian cricket to  the filthy rich for a 2 month window. If they shorten the timelines of IPL, ask key players not to play IPL and rest up for big ICC events/ marquee test series - it will open up potential lawsuits by team owners.

It is now upto the players - is India career more important or IPL financial security.

It is possible to strike a balance between both as players career can end with one big injury especially fast bowlers.

But I really envy England and Australia for having players like Jimmy Anderson for going on and on like a wicket taking machine at the age of 41 and nearing 700 test wickets and still winning Test matches for England. He is such a big name he could have played IPL last 10 years made an additional $20M . Ditto for someone like Pat Cummins who has shown the middle finger to IPL for several years now , in favor of playing for Australia.

For a hip dominant bowler, he barely generates any momentum and relies on sheer strength to bowl. We should never expect too much from him.

Will always be injury prone with that action and his speeds are not what they were either.

Good for him.

And India is not obligated to pick him when he wants to play either.

Prove your form, fitness and durability or you won’t be selected. Simple.
