So you'd expect someone who competes for silver/bronze in Olympics and gold in commonwealth to also win gold here.

Not really the level of competition is completely different between Commonwealth, Asian and Olympics. Olympics is the pinnacle of sport. As good as the world championship in all sports at the same time. In fact more prestigious IMO except for Football, Basketball, Baseball, Rugby,etc. In Athletics - esp track and field - Commonwealth standard is very high. Doing well there means you are somewhere in the world standard. Ditto for swimming, diving and hockey and maybe Gymnastics. The rest of the sports are pretty poor in standard compared to Olympic standard. In the Asian games - Athletics, Tennis etc. is very poor. Until recently so was Aquatics till Japan, China and Singapore have really improved a lot. In most other sports it is of a really high standard - as good as a world championship IMO. We have not won that many medals tbh consistently in Wrestling at the Asian Games. I think our best performance was in 2018 with 2 golds and a bronze... in terms of medals (5) in 2014 and 2012 - which is why we have won wrestling medals at the Olympics since. Shooting has always been our primarily Gold winner... even at the Asian Games.. and the standard at the Asian games is very high. We do really well in the world championships with people in the top 5 in almost all events (expect for trap events) - which is why it is really disappointing when we rarely win at the Olympics.
