LordPrabhzy Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/cricket-ireland-maiden-bilateral-series-against-australia-indefinitely-postponed-1430372 Not sure why this minnow country has been given full status by ICC when they cant even afford to host a tour which only has a handful of whiteball cricket- and that too against the Big 3 playing nation which meant the TV rights would be as lucrative as playing England. And these guys want to play Tests... they should be stripped of their full member status and only organise tours with Afg Bangladesh, SL and Pak
LordPrabhzy Posted April 22, 2024 Author Posted April 22, 2024 (edited) He also defended the decision by saying that Cricket Ireland is trying to "rebalance our spend" and increase investment in women's and age-group teams BC, they don't have money to sustain men's cricket and they want to spend more on women... first learn to walk before running Ireland will announce this week the outcomes of Friday's board meeting, which will include details of their men's international schedule for 2024. They will face Pakistan next month in three T20Is and are also due to host Zimbabwe (one Test, three ODIs, three T20Is) and South Africa (three ODIs, three T20Is) according to the Future Tours Programme - though both series are expected to be cut. So they are a full member team and cant host any tours by other teams - this sport is a joke Edited April 22, 2024 by LordPrabhzy Sgattick10 1

That also means Scotland have now filled all 23 ICC criteria for being accepted for full status . Time for a complete rethink of world cricket for tests , odi and T20 . My thoughts are 2 leagues of 8 for white ball with relegation and promotion and those who really want and can afford tests to play each other .
Nikhil_cric Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Any delusions about expanding Test cricket should end now. These teams are not even able to host white ball cricket atm.

Maybe these boards only depend on Broadcasting & gate money they generate through desi teams Irish also Host India when we travel to Eng for whiteball. Not sure who would be interested to watch this in Australia that too in a non cricketing season. Nikhil_cric 1
