Will any commentator, reporter, or ex-player call out non-selection of Abhishek?

Lord Thakur is more closer to getting the India call than Abhishek .

minimum qualification

- tuk at a slower Strike rate than lolhi and rohit ji

-leak more runs than Siraj or jadeja

-can reliably drop catches when needed

Add one more to that list

- flops in playoffs.

Abhishek had what in the recent IPL playoffs?   Hmmm.....    3, 12, 2 .  He is getting there.

Yes, I have an issue with this Abhishek. It is his FC average of 30 odd in 24 matches/37 innings. My rule of thumb is that if your FC average is low, you will not succeed in internationals. They will find your weaknesses which are there as the FC average proves.

there are successful T20-I players with poor FC records. classic example is nick pooran

Well we will see.......because there are more successful T20-I players with good FC records. And Pooran's 25 average and SR of 134 (compared to say the unfancied Kohli 51.xx and SR 138)  is not that good.

Now having a good FC average does not mean you will succced in T20Is. In fact doing well in T20Is is hard - even people with good FC averages like ABDV and Gayle have a so so International T20 record. People like Maxwell and Head are rare.

Odds you will fail with a bad FC average are esp high in T20Is.
