Ultimate_Game Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Will we see anyone call out this non-sensical selection? The best Indian opener this IPL with more than 400+ runs at SR of 200+ is not selected and non-performers are selected without any rationale. All the commies, and ex-players are quick to throw non-stars under the bus but will they have balls to call out this idiocy? In case of Rinku they mentioned it's his IPL form and ignored his stellar intl record. And in case of Abhishek, somehow the IPL form is not good enough for selection. So what is it? How do you get selected? Seeing likes of Siraj, Jadeja, and Rohit selected despite poor IPL form and lack of intl T20 performances, will someone finally call spade a spade? tweaker, Frustrated, vvvslaxman and 5 others 1 4 3

His batting alone deserves selection. The fact he's a spinner to boot and can get 1-2 overs in should be an added bonus! tweaker 1

Kohli and Rohit should not have been there in the first place. The 35 ball 50s that they may score will be more damaging as it gives enough ammunitions to paid influencers, and retarded fanbase to glorify the outdated style. Sharma and Jaiswal followed by Samson, Sky, Rinku and Dube should have been our minimum line-up. Ultimate_Game, prasen82 and express bowling 3

But considering that Ro and Ko are automatic selections, there is no place for him in the squad. Ultimate_Game and Need4Speed 1 1

vvvslaxman Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 All the one-dimensional hacks should be weeded out. If they fail with bat (either by getting out for nothing or tuk tuking for 15 overs) that's it they have no other way they can be useful for the team. Rohit, Kohli, Rahul. Then the half baked all rounder Jaddu. Bowlers who can't bat or field. Arshdeep, Siraj. In this case Siraj clicks once every 5 match. Arshdeep looks like part timer. It is not like our batsmen are great fielders. They also drop catches or misfield or both. Loser clan. I want those guys to mix with these guys. But in hindsight these bozos will infect them with their statpadding skills. Hope Jaiswal has the vaccine. Ultimate_Game 1

If you criticize Rohit being out of form, you must be a Kohli-bot or Pandya-bot. If you don't think Dhoni is perfection, you must be a Ganguly-bot or Rohit-bot or Kohli-bot or Gambhir-bot. putrevus Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Once thing I have learnt on ICF,they love assigning the blame on select few players and also players who are not selected are always Bradmans and Malcolm Marshalls.

Lets trust Yuvi, am sure he knows what he is talking about. Sometimes you have to give youth a chance, especially when they're in form. Yuvraj wasn't ready either when he made his debut as a 19 year old. Nor was Kohli, Rohit, and many others who got their chance as a youngster. Tendulkar made his debut as a 16 year old on a tour to Pakistan! If we had a similar approach and were cautious, I doubt any of these things had happened. But sometimes you have to back youth and potential as there're certain lessons they can only learn at intl level. I would've agreed with the current approach and sentiment if we were actually being successful and winning tourneys. We haven't won zilch for more than a decade now (since 2013),and even likes of SL, Pak and WI have won a tourney since then. That clearly shows the current approach doesn't work and needs a change. The kid (Abhushek) is in form and is matching Head, which is no small feat. His confidence is sky high and that's the time to give him a chance. Give him free reign to go after the bowling in PP and he may do what we've struggled to do for ages with experienced players, i.e., play fearless cricket and put opponents on the back-foot. There's a reason we won WT20 in 2007, and beat Aus in Aus in 2020-21 with youth and players who weren't "ready". If you don't give someone like Abhishek a chance now, when exactly are you gonna give him a chance? When he's jaded and start playing for averages? Or when he becomes disillusioned and demotivated like Shaw? Edited May 12, 2024 by Ultimate_Game Need4Speed 1
