Rahane as a test bat is miles better than Babar, it is not even close. Babar in his wildest dreams could not play Rahane's Lords or Melbourne knocks. That Lords one was a greentop. Babar's league is Karachi and Pindi pitches where England score 500 in 75 overs.

Only clutch knock I remember of babar is the one vs nz in 2019. Shaheen was raw at the time. In tests I can't think of a single knock in sena that was match winning.

Jadeja is a better test batsman than Babar Azam, that is their batting aukaat.

Is there any reason every 1 taking a hit at Babar ? --vaughan, viru, parthiv, malik....

 

Babar is a good batter, but there is no comparison between him and Kolhi, root, Smith..

Do not think he is match winner with his batting, lacks modern style of batting. His batting style is not suited for modern day batter.

 

This is v.smilar to Willimson situation whose test avg. is near 35 vs.  Ind, Aus Eng.

 

Babar plays some nice looking shots so does many others. His big white-ball averages are outcome of playing on some of the most batting friendly  against some of the weakest bowling sides with b/c sides playing against them. And then his approach to the batting which is v.conservative. Most batters these days wont play like this or do not have the luxury of doing so.

 

In 2020 he is still playing cricket of 90s, with lack of six hitting capabilities. 

 

Think this conservative style of batting was introduced to Pak batting by Misbah and Younis and then followed by the next gen of player
