Simon Katich!

Jacques also scored a ton and with Hayden sure to make a comeback, looks like Katich will still not get a chance in October. Tells you something about Australia's awesome bench strength. I think Katich had an average of 58 in like 4-5 matches, when he was dropped. I didn't believe it at first.

Katich is a gutsy fighter with a ton of heart and mongrel in him and nobody deserves this success like he does. Two hundreds in 3 tests - fantastic job, and I hope the moronic selectors keep him in the side for a year or so now. Find someone else to drop, because he is THE key batsman to Australia's success in the subcontinent right now.

There shouldn't have to drop someone else in order to make room for him. Does he still bowl ? If so, Australia won't need to take a specialist spinner to India. Katich is more than capable of bowling up to 15 overs and he can take the odd wicket or two as well. They may as well play him as something like a batting all-rounder, because any new spin bowlers coming to India will effectively become a waste of space after the first test when they get smacked all over the place.

You don't know' date=' but many Australian supporters hate him. It's like he is villain to the whole Australia. Many Australian Fans sound hatred toward to Katich in PP, but it is in fact, now called him as Kaprich. It must be funny word i believe.[/quote'] I'm not sure that he's hated. He does however have a small supporter base even though his domestic record is second to none. He's just not that fashionable a cricketer. I think given exposure to the likes of Mark Waugh, Andrew Symonds, Michael Clarke etc. he is a bit boring to watch. Can bat however and will go down as one of the unluckiest cricketers to not have more test caps.
