Below is a selected list of films shot in San Francisco and surrounding areas, where the location has added character to the film: The Maltese Falcon (1941) Vertigo (1958) The Birds (1963), Bogega Bay Bullitt (1968) A View to a Kill (1985) Basic Instinct (1992) Fell free to add more films and discuss your favorite film shot in SFO and surrounding areas (probably now the safest way to see San Francisco)!
