Is a result still possible in Kanpur Test?

Exactly 4.5 sessions + extended time left in this test match. This is all assuming there are no more rains.

As I type, BD is 231/8...assuming they go on to add 20 more runs...so they will close around 251.

If India goes all guns blazing with the bat and score around 300 runs in 50 overs and then declare by EOD today

Try to get BD all out by 150 which will leave India round 100 runs to chase in session and half

Very unrealistic but impossible? :hmmm:

Bangers can slow down the game to a crawl & force the draw. They'll bowl pacers post 4 p.m. & probably ensure stupid umpires call it end of day's play! This is where test cricket or cricket in general is like it's being played in stone ages :whack2:

Very much possible.

We can play a trump card here.

Gambhir should ask Rohit to sit back and let the King captain the rest of the game.

With this move The game will be done and dusted with half a 20 overs left.

who can forget the Golden words etched into Indias test history - For 60 overs they should feel like hell.

India should bat till first session tomorrow and try to get around 400-450 . Then we will have 2 sessions plus half an hour to bowl out nagins .. tough but doable

Our best bet is to score 6-7 an over in first innings & declare at 100-150 ahead. If we have to chase to win this game we should be prepared to do that. I don't see how we can just bat once & still win. We'll score slower if we aim for 400+ & play at least 80-100 overs

We need to treat it last a double ODI :om:
