Kohli is out of form and Rohit is just stupid

Rohit has decided to at ultra aggressively and in the process completely lost shape and technique...instead of playing like pant or sehwag..he plays like Afridi ...while that approach might be good and work in t20s..they are questionable in odis and absolutely filth in tests.

 

It is one thing to be aggressive and positive and it is completely another to be reckless...he has decided to be a compulsive puller and hooker even if you have fielders stationed there..who in the right mind does hit an aerial shot and get caught in the deep...at least try to hit on the ground...he and Sarfaraz are two players who have not shown temperament to play a test match ... Taking calculates risk is ok ..playing rash low percentage aerial shots seems stupid...

 

Either way I think it's more of a temperament issue rather than form..although this Afridi style of bs play might have screwed up his game in odis and tests...

This stems back from the WC 2023 - I was critical of this BS even then, he barely lasted the PP (10 overs) especially at the backend. Too many smart arses were praising this approach when it was clearly ill though out, specifically when you think he also didn't trust Surya Kumar at number 6 & sent him behind Jadeja in the finals

Rohit too is finished...he is just playing for glory and don't have any confidence in his technique.

 

It happens when you start knowing that your fitness, reflexes, eye sight is on a decline and you're just being on a loaned time.

 

Kohli, though is better on the physical fitness wise..mentally he is even older than Rohit. He doesn't have any aspirations left and its evident as he hasn't added even one new dimension in his game to compensate for his aging body.

 

Since, we are mostly out of WTC final. Let Rohit and Kohli retire now with whatever bit of grace they have in their career.

 

I am aware that in Australian, they will perform better than NZ series as it will have pace and bounce...but whether that performance will have any positive impact for our future..I seriously doubt thT.

Difference is that in shorter formats it's ok to live by the sword and die by it. This is needed to make the most of PP overs. But in Tests you've to put up a big score no matter how you do it. Sehwag used to play aggressively as well but he used to score big. Rohit can barely get into 30s. It shows lack of technique and temperament and he isn't fit to play Tests, and even ODIs.

No, it's not. Like I said, he didn't trust Surya Kumar enough to play him at 6—potentially a match-winning option—and promoted Jadeja of all the people! Then how the * does it make sense to slog like a tailender needlessly in the PP pvers? There's absolutely no sense in that strategy. You don't trust your lower/middle order, yet you're throwing your wicket away

SKY was a wrong selection pure and simple. Rinku was a better fit for the role. He has better stats (List A average of 50), can consolidate and hit when needed. Compared to Rinku, SKY doesn't have the game for ODIs. He can't consolidate and it shows in his List A average of around 30.

Yeah that's the problem..his approach is ok in t20s and maybe in odis but not in tests. Also there are lots of ways to be aggressive...but Rohit plays with the Intention of hitting bowlers out of the game..he hits two sixes or fours and then goes for the third one..is a compulsive puller..loses shape...Hayden Gilchrist and sehwag were aggressive but didn't lose shape the way Rohit loses shape...he bats like Afridi..no head brain or technique .considering how good he was previously this seems to be a decision he made which makes no sense
