Yes, but if Indian Govt/BCCI never said no until last week, can you blame PCB to have some hope? Why give false hope? it also goes to show some level of deceptiveness on the part of BCCI and Indian government. Why create so much drama? They should have just said there and then that they won’t allow Pakistan to get ICC hosting right as they won’t go. That would have kept things straight. Who’s benefiting from this controversy?

The status quo is such that if India changes its stance it will be big news and front page media news everywhere.

Assuming that no communication means india will tour is dumb. No communication always means india won't tour.

If there is ever a change of stance it will be a big announcement by BCCI and will be done way ahead of time to get indian crowd and citizens on board and will never be last minute announcement.

You're partially right, but you're oversimplifying things. Democracy and civilians also have space. It's true that the military holds significant power in Pakistan, but if it were as straightforward as you suggest, Imran Khan wouldn't be in jail, the Bhuttos wouldn't have been assassinated, and the Sharif brothers wouldn't have been exiled before. There's been a continuous struggle between democracy and the military in Pakistan, with highly popular leaders who have won elections through their appeal. A recent example is Imran Khan, who won the election while sitting in jail.

Pakistan isn't like the Middle East, lacking democratic roots. It has a vibrant civil society, somewhat open media, and a strong desire for democracy, which continues to fight for space. Today, almost all major political parties in Pakistan (except for some fringe ones) seek peace with India, and people support them at the ballot box.

My point wasn't about the size of the minority in India and Pakistan, but rather what the current Indian leaders are focusing on to secure votes. Why does the BJP feel the need to label a minority as "infiltrators"? Whether there is 1 Hindu or 1 million Hindus in Pakistan, the leaders of Pakistan have never referred to them with such a derogatory and disenfranchising term.

there have been infiltrators like fake votes Rohingyas..bangladesis..increaing day by day..the infiltrstors are there..from ISI too..trying to cause damage from within…similar infiltration from deep state and china as well..

There could be peace loving pakistanis but it doesnt matter as long as Pak is sending terrorists to India

Then why was the hosting right of Pakistan ICc champ trophy 2025 MOU signed by BCCI in 2014. Why waste everyone’s time

We don't want to tour pakistan. But we didn't want to rob pakistan of an opportunity to host. Why is that difficult to understand?

yes, then that would solidify what I am saying about some unreal delusion nowadays and denial of reality

You are deluded. I posted official figures from the icc and you countered with a link to a random blog saying "according to sources" as its information source. Also your blog is about the T20 world cup. The figures I posted were from the 50 over world cup that enable relative comparison of viewership between different games based on official data not "some sources are saying". You seem to be having a tough time accepting that India Vs Pakistan is no longer such a big deal for the Indian cricket viewer and an event most would happily live without

I dont want to discourse here from the current issue as I have some strong views on govt stuff..I treat bjp like andho

mei kaana raaja but better than opposition..who are sold to deep state..but thats a different discussion not for this thread..

Yeah I agree with your stance.

Which is why I was glad bjp won but not with a landslide

No other party has strong leader or policies for development. And not having landslide will also rein in the most extremist elements and policies including the religious extremism.

It is the best of both worlds.

I am not talking about news.

I am talking about original agreement. When ICC hosting rights are given, every party needs to sign it and BCCi signed it. That was the appropriate time to show the Indian stance and push back. BCCI should have refused to sign the agreement. It would have avoided all the controversy and drama we are seeing now. If people cannot trust Indian signed agreements, then what are they supposed to do. First you’re breaking agreement, then you’re blaming the other party for believing it lollll

It said Pakistan can host CT. It never said India will travel to Pakistan.

The stance was there even before this MOU was signed. Did PCB clarify if India will change the stance and travel?

The data you shared is surprising and probably needs more context as it contradicts all the other data readily available. Please explain it to the house full Ahmedabad full house crowd, tickets for which were sold out within an hour, as was the case for the recent Pak-India game in NYC. What you’re saying is totally delusional if you think that the fans treat it as any other game. It definitely has a spike over any other games, although probably not as much as an India knockout game.

Here is what the broadcaster said about the game “Sajith Sivanandan - Head, Disney+ Hotstar India said, “We would like to thank all the fans who tuned-in to watch the India-Pakistan match on Disney+ Hotstar. Your love for the game is what made it possible for Disney+ Hotstar to break all the previous records across all cricket formats and hit a peak concurrency number of 3.5 crore viewers.”

This “nationalist” government has ended your democracy and secular fabric. The effects of this dictatorship will start to show up decades from now.

So you disbelieve the ICC official data and the input from indians on an "Indian" cricket forum about cricket viewing habits and preferences of Indians, yet you have superior insights sitting in Pakistan and presumably never having set foot in India ? Also you are interacting with indian fans here while ignoring the clear message you are receiving regarding how they view India Pak games. If it's on TV they will watch just like people watched the Tyson fight the other day or some latest Bollywood saga. That doesn't mean it is something they are clamouring for.  They have largely moved on - something you and your fellow countrymen seem to be struggling to do. regarding selling out Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, it was an India game and all those games were sold out regardless of opposition. It was very tough to get tickets to watch any india game. In the US, there was a lot of attendance but that was because there is a large diaspora who do not get to see cricket regularly, NYC is well connected and the average indian fan is economically able to afford the exorbitant prices being charged.  That reflects local demand for cricket tickets in a new geography but it is a tiny part of the overall viewership

I am not saying that ICC data is incorrect but I’ve seen other ICC data in the past that contradicts this finding. I don’t think our personal anecdotal observation is required. It’s pretty much a commonly known fact that Pakistan vs India is the most watched game in and in the world, trumped only by some of India’s knock out games. If you looked at 10 last tournaments, that’s the overall conclusion.
