Separate Red Ball Coaching Setup ?

With so much high profile white ball cricket all year around, you need a new setup for red ball coaching which can spot and groom players, follow A team tours and plan for big series beforehand. 

 

In my opinion successful domestic cricket coaches like CK Pandit, Gillespie or even Ryan Harris can be good options.

 

In bowling dept we badly need someone like Bharat Arun who can make bowling plans and give it to bowlers to execute. We are losing so many matches because our bowlers become headless chickens the moment someone attacks them (Travis Head, Duckett, Brook).

No plans on how to set fields and bowl defensively to build pressure. Ashwin also pointed out this thing in his analysis that our bowlers just don't know art of building pressure by bowling defensively and having a very noob captain also doesn't help.

Besides this I think Agarkar should also be kicked out alongwith Gambhir(from red ball setup)

The problem with Gambhir isn't the format, he is simply not good enough to be a coach. 

 

Being a head coach of an Indian Team is entirely different from being an assistant to Chandrakant Pandit at KKR. He never any real coaching experience. 

 

Plus he was known for having weird opinions. He believed Ashwin could be our number 4 in ODI in 19 World Cup and predicted Buttler as the highest scorer pf 23 World Cup. And so many more hilarious takes. 

 

He inherited a brilliant limited overs set up that had two flawless campains in ODI and T20 World Cups. Winning Champions Trophy was hardly a surprise for the best ODI team. 

 

His ideas are archaic. He should go.

I think he has earned enough credit after CT win to stay white ball coach till T20 world cup at least. He also has some experience in the IPL, so I am fine with that. 

 

The biggest issue in white ball for us was choking and panicking in big games. We always had talent there to dominate even if we fluff team selection in 1-2 positions. With his motivational skills if we can overcome those mental barriers, it is worth keeping him there.
