Would you play Kuldeep Yadav in Test matches in SENA?

Forget wickets, our spinners won't even get a bowl in NZ unless captain wants to manage over rates, turn will be zero degrees and will sit nicely for batters to whack all over the ground. Even NZ won't play Santner, it will be 4 pronged pace attack (Henry, Rourke, Jamieson and someone else) with target to bowl us out within 50 overs.

 

Play Sundar and/or Jadeja only if you feel they are among the top 5 MO batsmen in India, otherwise try Jurel, Sarfu, someone else.

 

Probem is that just before the NZ series, we have 2 test series in Lanka which will definitely be played on rank turners. So likely that our spinners get rich hauls (and Sundar/Jaddu/Axar are good enough to score vital runs on such pitches), and that may influence selection in NZ.

In NZ and other purely pace friendly venues like SA or pink ball test , we probably don’t need Kuldeep. We can play Reddy at 8, Bumrah 9, Siraj 10, Prasidh 11. Jadeja and Sundar bat at 6 and 7.

 

We have only one away tour this cycle, ie NZ. But if we quality to Finals in England, we need to figure out the XI.

Jadeja can play. Sundar only if he is good as an MO batter. O/w put in Jurel. 6 bowlers with 2 spinners on those pitches is overkill.

 

Sundar will anyway replace Jadeja in 2-3 year s for that role.
