Pet dogs

I am exploring  having a pet dog. Due to family demands .  I live in a humble 2 bhk. Any recommendation on breeds?

 

First of all is it practical to have a dog in our cramped apartments?

Having pets come with many challenges...specially if you're taking big dogs...you need to be extra careful while taking them in lift..at times even put a net on their mouth...so that they dont bite others. Also, if they do **** in the open, you need to carry the napkins to ensure the cleanliness.

 

Smaller dogs are better choice...except the **** part other issue may not bother you much. However, prepare yourself mentally for some arguments by you neighbours or apartment folks. Dogs can get anxious in the closed spaces and may attack on others.

Consider cats as they tend to manage themselves with relatively more discipline. 
 

A dog needs relatively more attention!

How is labrador? It is not as big as say german shepherd.

You can take it...but ensure whenever you're taking him to society for a walk...dont forget to put a net on his mouth.

 

Also, dont keep him in balcony for long..the more they bark, more the neighbours will complain.

 

As I mentioned, smaller cute puppies are the best to go. Neighbours will poke you less.

Do these dogs need a special carnivore diet. Or will they be happy with the sauth indian Dal plus rice.

You can, but keep the taste neutral...Dogs may not be able to sustain the food spice level like humans. 

 

I had a couple of desi dogs...gave them milk-chapati...dal rice, curd rice...and at times chicken items. One live for almost 8 years...other one didnt live more than 3...both died in accident.

Shihstzu. Very very cute, they sleep most of time, stress free and they act like humans. These are mine, they are sisters same age from same litter but big difference in sizes. We got owners arrested for running puppy mills. But we are lucky to get these two. But big one had to be put down cuz of stage 5 tranquilla problem. Worst pain i have experienced in life. But they are sooo cuddly n cute.

This one is going to be a hit with the kiddos.

 

But  is it suitable for the Indian heat?

 

And yes, I have heard from lot of pet owners. If the dog leaves, it is going to be a worst feeling. I can only imagine what you felt, if you had to do it voluntarily. Hope the new ones more than make up for your pain man..

He says to vaccinate the dogs properly, Unless there is a allergy they are going to be fine.

Did they roam off to street and there was a collision with some vehicle?

Fair input. Although in a small house the viruses and bacteria brought in by the pets can cling on to the family members. It's like getting an additional human who can't keep care of themselves. Ha ha..dogs and humans have adapted to each other's company.

 

Across the world there are hardly 3 to 5 million wolves. But number of dogs are easily  20x  that. 

 

By adapting to humans these dogs have won the darwinian race

Those are valid concerns. But the dog has to be trained to not to do that.

 

As per evolution dogs and humans have been together for long time. I am sure humans are immune to microbes that are native to dogs and vice versa.

Try a mid/size. Labrador, German Shepherds are bulky and difficult to manage. Huskies are best

it made me go in to depression. I lost family members and others but for some reason the death of my dog. me n fiancé signed for value of life versus pain is something very hard. Her lil sister went through recent episode twice where she couldnt move cuz of neurological issues cuz of age n stress. We thought we lose her too, but this time i spent more than 40k which is insane here, but she is on gabapetin and other stuff. So she sleeps a lot but slowly coming back to herself. I cant take another depression episode. If u wanna get a pet make sure u can endure pain that is beyond which pierces ur heart. Plus i was attacked on street by fags and stole stuff on me. 6 people . Shittt is getting bad in usa.
