I can't even remember the movie I watched last weekend, let alone at the turn of the century and for 25 years following. I am sure I have watched a few of these movies (like Inception, CTHD, Kill Bills ... but by gawd ... I can't even remember a single scene to know whether they are in my top-##.

2000 was a great year for notable films. Apart from Amores perros, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and In the Mood for Love were also released in that year, both are on my list too.
 

Other notable films released in 2000, but not on my list, are Gladiator and Yi Yi.  If I were to expand the list to 25, these two would probably make it, along with maybe Memories of Murder (2003) and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), 
 

Talking about Amores perros, even its trailer is memorable:

Quentin Tarantino's list - QT's top 20 films of 21st century ... Did they copy my "one movie per director" style of list? 

 

QT's list is meh to a certain extent but I like the way he justifies his picks!
