I am sure I have watched a few of these movies (like Inception, CTHD, Kill Bills ... but by gawd ... I can't even remember a single scene to know whether they are in my top-##.
Prakat Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Amores Perros, what a banger first scene and what a debut for Innaritu.

Apart from Amores perros, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and In the Mood for Love were also released in that year, both are on my list too. Other notable films released in 2000, but not on my list, are Gladiator and Yi Yi. If I were to expand the list to 25, these two would probably make it, along with maybe Memories of Murder (2003) and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Talking about Amores perros, even its trailer is memorable: Edited December 5, 2025 by zen Prakat 1
zen Posted December 5, 2025 Author Posted December 5, 2025 Quentin Tarantino's list - QT's top 20 films of 21st century ... Did they copy my "one movie per director" style of list? QT's list is meh to a certain extent but I like the way he justifies his picks!
