I see Ankit Bawne and Mandeep Singh above him. Just tells the standard of this tourney

White ball selection is done based on IPL even ODIs.

Bawne is playing since 2008. So you can't use him as an example. Ruturaj did it in the last few yeasr.

His issue is he can not hit 4 just by pushing the ball in the gap, alot of newer ind batter lacks that ability.

Playing at low risk yet finding boundary.

tilak broadly has 3 modes::

1.keep hitting <-- SA t20s, Eng t20

2.Getting Stuck <-- happened to him alot.

3.Getting Stuck but not giving away the wkt , which is extension of  mode 2 <-- innings he played vs Pak in finals, he plays this for MI too it looks good when other batter around him keeps getting out but he holds on but looks bad when others are hitting and he is stuck <<-- where he got to retire-out.

Even the boundary frequency is very less.  He scored a 126 in 77 balls against a mediocre team liek Manipur. Other than that his career is nothing to write home about. There are way better batsmen than him for 50 overs format.  Also this Tanzid guy repeatedly worked him over in the off stump channel in Asia cup before cleaning him up.

He is almost 30 years old. What is the point of him at this point. Time to invest in next generation.

He plays for 1 of the more influential ipl sides, they already know there is no place in t20is and top order. So he has been playing in mo #4 in white-ball and red-ball games.

Soon after the wc there will be a need of mo batter as kolhi will retire hence he is been prepared for that. Same thing with tests too, rt. now Ind test side is not stable and there is multiple spots which can be taken .

He was also wk in some of game for his side in the domestic t20 league.
