Literally a 300km range pinaka (1000 of these) alongside pralay is enough.

Pak geography speaks for itself

We have imported PULS (in limited numbers)

Longer range Pinaka is a while away.

We will get 300km pinaka before we get any fighter jets like rafale, tejas mk2 or amca. Even if you place rafale orders next month they will come in 4 to 5 years.

Mark my words more k9 orders too underway. (100 built and 100 underway) India is shunning the m777 gun and even dhanush cause of its success after modifications vs china + highly improved border infra offering more access.

TEDBF design is locked now...

It will undergo aerodynamics test now and prototype development.

Legendary HAL will make the prototype under F414 engine. 31 additional Rafales are now dropped off.

I really hope we come out of this "exploration" stage soon.
While GCAP or FCAS have their own set of challenges and positives, it would be key to understand how much involvement India will have in those programs.
I'm also inclined towards Mig41 project for Russia, if IAF can join that and help co-develop it's capabilities. It would give us another dimension in 6th Gen warfare, as Mig41 is extremely fast and agile.

Su75 may not make much sense for us, as we're already into Rafale and Tejas mk2. Stealth covering will be given to us by Ghatak. Plus don't think it can carry long range BVR's.
Su57 does, and can be used for long range strikes.

Seems P75I is round the corner, Rajnath Singh is going to visit Germany in April 21 for 3 day tour.

First boat at this rate is supposed to come close mid 2030's..

They should have given follow on order of those 3 additional Scorpene originally promised.

Conventional fleet is in a poor state with such a huge coastline to defend

What I have read is price of those additional 3 scorpenes is an issue.

Its almost costing similar to original 6 scorpenes, though this time it comes with AIP, but DRDO wants to use its own AIP Cell, as the ones Scorpenes are using now isnt proven enough.

Type 214 AIP is top tier, even the displacement they offer is better. Though Scorpenes are more agile and fast.

One good news is that the dry deck in Vizag is ready now to parallely manage three hulls. So P77 will start the work in parallel with S5 SSBNs. Capability wise one P77 will be three to four times of what a SSK can do.

Only pending item is the 190MW reactor by BARC. They wont be using the 83MW one.

Rafale side, the deal has hit the wall due to Brahmos. France doesnt want Russian equipment integrated with their jet. But India wants capability to integrate Brahmos NG.

Just hope that goes to some conclusion, if not Brahmos NG, atleast get the contract to include all Astra & Rudrams missiles is agreed upon.

Astra and Rudram should be negotiated for French Mirage fleet as well.. Idk why we are not pushing for it alongside the obvious Rafale push..

SSN program is going at decent speed just like the SSBN but obviously have different roles than AIP SSK's which are vital for coastal defence.

SSN are for deep strike objectives and protecting SSBNs, far away from safe harbours.

I think additional Scorpene are now at similar price or close to it as German Type 214 and French were never giving us any actual ToT.

So for now all eggs are in P75I basket and Navy will probably give follow on orders this time around.

Short term wise our conventional sub fleet will be inferior to Porks for roughly 2-3 years and that's the pinch MoD and IN are ready to take.

It's similar to the AWACS situation but manageable for now

Yeah, Navy seems to be following top down approach.

Instead of going through SSk, SSK (AIP), SSN, SSBN, SSGN approach...they're starting in reverse, focusing more on SSBN and then on SSN.
Probably they're relying heavily on Seaguardian, Romeo, P8I and ASW ships to manage the risk of Pooki submarines...while building lead on SSN and SSBN for sustained maritime combat and nuclear deterrence.

They don't want to fight submarine vs submarine, but rather stop Pooki submarines using Anti submarine equipments.

They are charging a premium for these but there is no one in the class of these beasts.

6 P8I costs roughly close to a squadron of Rafale aircraft

Importing likes of P8Is and C17 Globemaster is fine, as they're unique in their own sense.

But buying equipments like Stryker or Javelin or C130J is of no use, there are better alternatives available.

Yeah they aren't expecting a conflict with a major maritime power for example PLAN so they are comfortable with whatever PN throws at them in the short term.

Once again Op Sindoor was a missed opportunity and Top brass shouldn't have caved in to US

pressure that soon..

All 3 upgraded AIP Agosta subs were docked in the Karachi harbour and were there for the taking.

Grave mistake from our Part and I guess more and more folks are now realising it

The point is that Pakistan has only a fixed storage line for those ships.

We know where to hit them next. Cripple their navy and they are sitting ducks even if they have their Chinese maal aircraft.

That would have been the next logical step. Blow up Karachi port and Pakistan is a dead duck
