These migrants can only afford the rent of slums or rent of apartments. They are not in a position to own legal properties in non slum localities. Many commenting on how to solve Mumbai problems are not even domicile residents of Mumbai. I often see ridiclous comments posted on electronic media and it is better to ignore them than fall to their level of knowledge about Mumbai. From their negligible knowledge about the city one can easily identify that most of such people have not even been in Mumbai for more than 3 to 4 years. Surprisingly these genius peoole have solution to Mumbai without knowing the city in itself well. Won't comment on other metros like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi etc because I havent stayed there and therefore do not have a complete understanding of those other big cities. Not swimming, but I am actually enjoying the incessant rains and its good. Such a pleasant climate here after the summers and the mood is so good. Weather wise these last 3 days were the best I have had without affecting my daily routine. In fact the last three days were best for me in 2025.I hope rain falls like this for another month. That all passengers trapped in monorail ncident yesterday, made the evening more happier. Such a good news that all were rescued out safely. Sarcasm or Spirit of Mumbai in your post. One does not have to be in Mumbai to say that floods should be tackled better Drainage needs to improve Hoardings should not fall on people New flyovers should not be waterlogged. Newly built roads should not get spoilt in a month and have potholes on them.

Like i mentioned before I missed the word rescued and it was typo. Nobody gets happy for such incidents. In fact my happiness was to the fact that all were rescued like I mentioned in previous post, not because of people getting trapped. Mumbai has seen floods before as well. 26 July....In fact I was one of the thousand Mumbaites who were out well past midnight to avoid and solve public problems during those floods. It was because of people like us who volunteered, the loss and devastation was atleast reduced. Things were uncontrollable and only damage control was possible, which we did. So in no ways I am happy in that context. But these things are beyond control of mankind, and having seen flood in Mumbai before, these will keep happening again. There won't be a last flood. That is the reality. People who do not help others are a plenty. Volunteers will be few. Migrants should stop taking house on rent in slums. These are the areas where water goes into houses. Also, they should stop staying on houses built literally on slopes of hills and bottom of hill. The slums which start as soon as road ends are also very risky. pkmmamks 1
