He mentioned something about batting order decisions. As per him MSD was the the one who always made the call about batting order. Fleming would just communicate. Rahane strike rate in that season was staggering 172. Kohli has neve done that in any of the IPL season. Even backin the early days Murali Vijay was given the license. But not sure what happened with this current unit. Especiall Ruturaj is still playing very conservatively. His record in 180 plus chases are abysmal.

He isn't a fit for modern T20s just like Rahane but playing coz CSK nominated him the captain.

tapandrun Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Karthik sharma played 2 knocks in winning contributions but do not think he has the t20 batting game, he is mostly run a ball or behind.And hits 1-2 4/6 once the match is already done by player on the other end. Do nt think he can hit any kind of quality bowling, unless its loopy spin velu and Ultimate_Game 2

Plays second fiddle to the main aggressor and then hits a couple of boundaries at the end to up the SR a bit. Don't see potential in him but he does know how to get in and not throw his wkt away. Wish Urvil had this trait or Kartik could play fast like Urvil. If we combine Kartik and Urvil, we get a modern gen T20 player.

Need batters who can win the games rather than players who are accumulating runs. that was the reason Ind dropped dhawan and rohit and kolhi were pushed all the time to increase their sr. Any batter can get in and score slowly in t20s and wont get out. we have seen alot of slow but high scoring batters like that. But yes urvil has to make some substantial score already 2 games for him in ipl like set-up have to make a mark quickly. Edited May 7 by tapandrun Ultimate_Game 1
