That was so key - those 2 fours else the pressure in the last over if 10+ were needed would have been massive.

 

Pandya is trying to show off his muscle power and in the process loses shape. Dube has a stable base which is why he doesn't get into awkward positions if the ball is in the hitting arc. Pandya had many deliveries in the hitting arc. Yet he hit the ball hard into ground with no timing. He did the same at the MCG against pakistan. Tried to over hit. In 20th over  tried to over hit against nawaz and got out.

Hard disagree! Both Ishan and Dube will walk into most of the intl teams. Aus had likes of Maxwell, Inglis, Renshaw, Cam Green as their batters. Ishan and Dube are better than all of them. I won't even talk about Pak, B'desh and SL as these two would be their main batters. Even SA, WI and NZ would love to have them as they don't have any batters who're either that clutch (SA, WI) or that explosive (NZ). Ishan has shown he has game awareness and skill to handle tough conditions as his Asia Cup knock in 2023 shows where he rescued India alongside Pandya on a tough wicket. And Dube has managed to come through so many times in tricky situations that it can't be luck or pure slogging. He knows his game and knows what needs to be done.

 

 

Maxwell has T20i sr of 156 and avg of ~30, he has most number of tons for a middle order batter, bowls bit of off-spin.most teams would like to have him in their team and all the opp. would like to see him gone early. He has 4 intnl t20i tons playing at #4 (if not wrong) , he(and rohit) has most number of t20i tons i.e. 5, but he got them in middle order.

 

Lets not go by recent form, yes dube and kishan out played alot of batters but they need to improve if they want to stay in intnl cricket. Kishan still lacks off side game, so does dube hope they work and improve on it, they do not need to be v.v.good as they both have solid leg-side game but they should be capable of hitting 4/6 on off-side so that opp. sides can not tie them there. 

 

Pooran the best t20 batter currently is a v.good example he does not hit too many 6s on off-side bt opp. can not bowl him there too as he can get 4s and when they miss the mark by a bit he makes sure he hits them for 6s be it pace or spin. he can hit 6s right frm covers to sq. leg.

 

Dube has power game which off-sets lot of limitations and Kishan has v.good leg-side game they just need to expand bit of range on off-side to be high quality t20 batters 

 

Renshaw is nt t20 batter, they made a mistake with him. He had a good bbl season and they got him in wc side dropping Owen who was doing well for Aus at intl levels.

Thats why picking up players frm league straight to ICC events in not fruitful, they should be tried in those bi-laterals. He is a prime example of league hype which we see on this forum too.

 

Green-- He got everything that says it should work for him atleast in t20is, think he should let go of bowling and think himself of pure batter and take more responsibility.

He needs batters mind set.

Maxwell's past it. He shouldn't have been picked and other than the Afg match in 2023 when he was dropped before he won the match he hasn't done anything in India. He has consistently failed in IPL and his performances have dropped off over the last couple of years. He doesn't get ahead of Ishan or Dube in sub-continental conditions especially when both Ishan and Dube are spin killers. Same with Renshaw, Green and others. They're a misfit in T20s especially in subcontinent.

 

Pooran would be the starting wk in most teams in T20s but he has retired from intl cricket just like Sunil Narine and a number of WI players so he doesn't count. The current WI players don't get ahead of Ishan and Dube based on performances and track record.
