Yuvraj's buy in 2 consecutive seasons was ridiculous lol. Chris morris and Dan christian were once big buys and very random too but complete flops. I'm sure this list can include many more, just a rudimentary query on Gemini yielded this. Edited April 7 by rollingstoned Manucrick, Mariyam, BacktoCricaddict and 1 other 4
Mariyam Posted April 7 Posted April 7 The Indian marquee players are not bought for just their on-field exploits. They are purchased so that they can attract crowds, build brands etc. A good way to see the worth of Yuvraj or Pant is to compare the valuation of the franchise pre-season vs post season. Bigg Brother Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Teams should never go mad unless the player is brand material or captaincy material (Iyer,Cummins) who can be there for longer periods. Ridiculous to spend 15-20 cr on no name entities and retired pricks who thinks IPL as vacation. Flintoff was never T20 player still CSK paid 10 cr, the guy even retired in the same year. Same year, there was another guy- Tyron Henderson who was bought by RR for crazy money and played in one match. Pawan negi who used to bowl was left arm pies was also expensive buy in one season. RR has best auction strategy among other teams, Got Jaiswal and now got Vaibhav in 1 cr only. rollingstoned 1
