So, we already know something about it.While it is first contracted from rats through air, person-to-person transmission is unlikely - it needs sustained contact and exposure. Most importantly, unlike CoViD 19, presymptomatic and asymptomatic transmission do not happen. So, it is easy to identify and contain quickly. Outbreaks are short and sporadic. Its mutation rate is also low. So, it is not a pandemic threat at this point. Bad news: If one gets it, it has a high mortality rate. There is no vaccine because outbreaks have been short and sporadic. Cynical statement: There are companies working on mRNA vaccines (pre-clinical stages). With enough investment, it is not difficult to get this developed and put through clinical trials. However, enough people will bitch and moan, and make up all sorts of conspiracy theories to devalue it, so why try hard?
