Why cant these guys keep a basic tempo. So many dot balls and singles..  these are supposed experienced players.

Don't teach him to play for stats

Last thing i want is creating a statpadder out of Vaibhav. That is the worst thing to do. INdia left Sehwag to his own devices even in Tests. Same with Srikkanth in the 1980s. You should do the same with Vaibhav.  These are game breakers. Harry brook , Pant, Travis head. . YOu get much out of them when they play naturally.

Even at a much lower level he has this issue. Probably he doesn't have a wristy game to place the ball, bunt the ball and run.

Does he? He has got out in the 90s 4 times, thats no different from him getting out in the 20s or 50s or 80s

 

He tries hitting every ball and overhits or mishits occasionally, regardless of the score he is in

 

Its us who are trying to attach emotions to the milestone, he is playing the same way as he does starting on 0 or 10.

The field is spread and SL are on the defensive. There's no reason we don't score 5-6 runs easily every over!

He was playing on the merit of the ball before. This was a slog.

IN Tilak's case it is more often ball hitting the bat rather than bat hitting the ball. He times his swing so late that often ball already gets to him by the time he tries to place the ball.
