Despite Vaibhav's knock, we would hv lost this match.   It was A Roy's cameo of 40 from 14 that turned out to be the difference.

No,stage was set for him to launch

It's quite good that he encashed when likes of Rutu and Tilak gave 3D horror performance in the middle

Anukul played his part, but Suryavanshi gave that hydrogen bombesque start,he decimated the entire attack

With this series - Ind can develop vipraj showed he can bat in last few over and is a leg-spinner

Shegde -- A lower order hitter, showed he can play in tense situation as well

Na Vipraj is average, need to develop Anukul and get a better attacking leg spinner

Vipraj is bits and pieces at best, may come handy that too in 2nd ,3rd T20 xi

Rated Vipraj highly and his bowling had regressed. Good to see him coming back strongly. One other player I would've taken to SL is Madhav Tiwari. I rate him higher than Shedge and he's someone I can see play the Pandya role.

I would play Nitish, Shedge and Tiwari in all of the upcoming A series and choose the one who performs the best for WC.

Allrounders will always have this up and downs sometimes bowling dips and sometime batting dips, this is part of the development curve and hence the reason it takes time for allrounder to develop and at time some just pivot to 1 skill.

Tiwari was playing Mpt20 league he was amongst the top run getter and had few good outings with ball too. Let him play more domestic no need to fast track him. He should play some FC and LIst A and Smat+IPL. Refine his skills, do not want such players to induct early and just to lose after some minor issues being found-out

There are not many and no one is Ind is big-turner, they all are v.similar. Vipraj provides batting and is a decent fielder too.

Anukul is las nothing special , Sheba is better batter and bowler than him. Need to develop as many players as possible.

IMO Tiwari has enough upside to play in the A team. Not many have that type of upside. If it looks like he's struggling at that level send him back. But with the next WC in SA I want to test the players who can help us. If Tiwari performs at the A level and does better than Reddy and Shedge, take him to the WC alongside Pandya. We need a couple of pace all-rounders who can hit big at the death. Tiwari can do so and that's why want him to at least get a few A games. We can't mess up this WC with Aussies on the down. This WC is for the taking and I don't want to leave any stone unturned.

Not sure I understand the "Staying in top 8 and able to play top 15 in icc events in main objective now" part. Did you mean Afg here coz India's only goal and objective should be winning ICC tournies, especially World Cups along with WTC. Anything less and it'll be a massive disappointment and under-achievement.

Aussies are no longer what they used to be with no new talent coming through, Eng has regressed from their peak of 2018-2022, SA are still SA who struggle mentally and we've finally put kiwis in their place by beating them in CT and WT20 finals (along with 2023 WC SF). Rest of the teams are also rans and if we don't win the WC now, I don't know when we'll win it.

This was in response to the original post saying tri-series can bring back interest in Odis. Cricket is moving away from these non-icc events series and all these series are for the development of the players who teams thinks have done well in their domestics+theirt20 leagues.

Most teams wants to stay in top8 for direct qualification to wc thats it. And they try to bring all top players in icc events.

Tiwari has not played any domestic not even 1 List A or Fc game, he was bowling sub 135 kmph in t20s, fair to assume he will be 125ish kmph in Odis. Can not just throw in player in the wc event. He needs to play domestics. If he was 140 kmph bowler with batting ability then it was a diff thing . right now Ind has many similar sub 130 kmph bowling allrounders -- Dube/Shegde/Venky/Nitish

There is still a huge diff between IPl and playing a full strength sides in Wc.

He is an all-rounder and would be playing a Dube type of role. In conditions where the pitch is helping pacers he'll be useful. We're not looking for an out and out pacer for that pace all-rounder position. We're looking for someone who can bowl 4-5 overs along with Pandya, and can hit lower down the order. Somebody like Tiwari fits the bill.

On current formi don't think Shahbaz is better than Anukul, who himself did well in both SMAT and VHT this season plus he's younger

In odis we need an attacking legspinner, doesn't need to have batting ability,if someone from the three pacers can wield the bat

Yash Punja looks promising,Vipraj doesnt make the side either on bowling or batting

As a package he is a compromise

He should do so but want to see if he has it in him to play the WC. If he struggles in the A team, send him back. But need to see if we can find someone who can help with the pace all-rounder role along with Pandya for the WC.

Wrist spinner takes time to develop, and vipraj is an allrounder too , it will take time to develop.

Kuldeep and Chahal are specialist bowlers whose forms keeps dipping, they too keep getting hit when better batters play vs them. The reason remains all the not massive turners and do not turn with zip. The issue here is these specialist are not that far ahead in terms of skills and are poor with bat and while fielding too.

Puja is new had good few games lets see what he does next season when teams plans vs him.

What an absolute shitshow from tilak and ruturaj. Embarrassing selfish cricket.

Tukuraj trained by Thala and Tilak by Pandu

Verma and Rutu are 2nd and 3rd highest run getters in this series and scoring at a sr of 75 and 86 and in top 10 batters the lowest sr after these 2 was 91 and next was 97.

In this series Ind scored 300 or more 3 times clearly shows these 2 were not playing with the tempo of the game and pulling team behind the game, these are the most exp. players in the Ind side

I love Tilak and I want him to be in T20s but he isn't a T20 batter. He doesn't understand how to bat in ODIs and gets stuck. Ruturaj OTOH is like KL and he isn't going to be a game changer either. IMO we need to end the experiment and fascination with them. Selectors should understand that ODI is a different format from T20s and not to push IPL stars in every format.

Have been posting t20i and odis are v.diff format. A batter with ability to score 20 ball 40 is v.v.good t20 batter but does not add anything to the odi side unless team is ready to carry that batter with no performance and 1 exceptional performance -- like maxwell.

Issue with tilak is ability or inability to score 4s  by pushing the ball into gaps , with rutu its mentality he is similar mold as that of kl/gill.

Can let go of this series for rutu as he was batting with verma and pointed this out its v,hard to play with players who get stuck and not score quickly, odi mo is about partnership and strike rotation and if some 1 is just blocking the only option left for other batter to do the hitting for himself and rutu is not that kind of batter.

The worry is verma will be found out in t20is as well in conditions where Ind lost few wkts and he is playing, teams would know he can not hit without really trying to hit and opp. can put him and other batter under-pressure
