Guest Hiten.
CMON!!!!! He surely was mediocre in tests. He never fulfilled the dream he gave to us Indian fans when he started off with back-to- back centuries early in his career. Link to comment

sm332
yeah it has been poor stretch for him no doubt ... i like the signature by the way dhoni in 2008 - http://stats.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/player/28081.html?class=1;spanmax1=31+Dec+2008;spanmin1=01+Jan+2008;spanval1=span;template=results;type=batting;view=innings 7* matches - 11 innings - average: 23 - highest 52 (only 1 fifty this year) Against Australia and South Africa Link to comment

Dhoni's glovework is a sufficient reason for India to keep persisting with him in tests. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Dhoni is still the best option for now. But if anyone decent comes up he should replace him. As for future test captain:(( Link to comment
DomainK
Dhoni may or may not be a great test player, but he is our best choice at the moment. He has shown determination to improve against his natural instincts and I am sure that he will improve. Link to comment
Willow_on_fire
MSD is a cool player...rare batting failure in the first innings...he'll come back good to prove his doubters wrong. Link to comment
msb1991
What people keep forgetting is just how outstanding Dhoni is with the gloves and that he has shown himself a very strong captain in ODI cricket. Link to comment
bharat297
The problem is ... whenever someone is looked at to replace Dhoni ... its always either Karthik or Parthiv ... They are both ordinary keepers ... Who is the next best keeper? Maybe they should be given a go because Dhoni is not doing anything to cement his spot. Link to comment

Sooda
DK is not ordinary altho I have heard he has been poor of late. I reckon at his best hes a more natural gloveman than MSD. Not in the same class as a Bat of course. Link to comment
Cricketics
Bharat, INdian team is no gully cricket team where anyone can come and keep wickets. what you mean " Who is the next best keeper? Maybe they should be given a go because Dhoni is not doing anything to cement his spot." after pp and karthik, who aren't really good. we all know there is no decent one around. DHON IS THE BEST, crap are the rest.. Link to comment
bharat297
I know that! Im not saying Dhoni is not the best keeper we have atm ... But when we're talking about the reserve keeper , maybe its time to look past KKD and Parthiv and look at the next keeper and depending on how he goes in the A tours and such, he may push Dhoni for a Test spot. Im just saying that unless there is some competition for his spot, he might run the risk of being complacent Link to comment

Im just saying that unless there is some competition for his spot, he might run the risk of being complacent Spot on Bharat. I am all in favor of Dhoni but keeping in mind that he has not been excellent, the search for a better keeper-batsman has to continue. And then we should not make the mistake Pakistan did in completely closing the doors for any new keeper once they found Akmal and when Akmal proved a disaster, they did not have any options to replace him. I am not saying that thats what will happen to Dhoni, but we should have a back up keeper for an injury or loss of form. Link to comment
