From reputation perspective this is good for SKY.  He and Rohit have highly impressive T20 captaincy record. Imagine coming back as captain and failing as a batsman there will still be criticism.  Especially with Iyer not being upto mark as captain will only enhance reputation of SKY.  I don't mind Iyer playing as a batsman. But as a captain especially while fielding he looks a little lost.  Not using Chahal in some of the matches for bizzarre reasons definitely raised the eye brows.

Sky was the 1st proper t20 batter from Ind, he has a v.good intnl record for a batter coming at #4, its a v.hard slot to bat in t20is.

 

He lost power game and was reduced to a legside batter with just 2 shots , ramp-hook vs pace and sweep vs spin, he has captained ind v.well.

He helped develop a complete team rather than relying on 1-2 batter kind of team. 

 

PPl wanted him out and most were in favour of iyer and at that time any other option looked better than sky, but not ppl are realizing IPl performances are not same as performing in Intl.

 

Its okay to give chances to new player from IPL. but players who were given chances and got dropped should be taken back into Ind side with some caution and better study of their surge in ipl should be understood, why this player now scoring , did they fix the previous issues, are they playing tough over frm top inlt bowlers or scoring vs just 1 kind of bowling and non-intnl or fringe players only, same goes for bowlers too.

 

But good to see sky not making too much fuss about it, similar to bhuvi. Both can play IPL as long as the IPL teams think they have value to them and then move to coaching to tm or franchise management roles.

You are confusing two different things 

 

The thread is about SKY's removal so I wrote in that comtext only. 

 

Before Iyer's appointment, no one wanted Samson to be captain. There are threads here wanting Iyer instead.

 

This is juts hindsight view shift which is typical of Indian fans
